Maple Foundry

A dedicated place
to shape the world.

Maple Foundry is the distinct general-purpose 3D modeling application in the Maple family. Its broader role is creative asset-making, separate from the runtime that brings a world to life.

General-purpose 3D modeling

A creative application
with its own purpose.

Foundry’s intended product role is general-purpose 3D modeling. It is a separate application, with a broader creative purpose than a ship editor built only for Grevara.

A useful way to understand the distinction is by responsibility: Foundry is for shaping assets; Maple Engine is for running the world that uses them. The engine’s native editor remains part of Engine rather than being renamed into Foundry.

The full modeling vision is being developed. Specific modeling operations, render features, plugins, file-format support, and compatibility are not announced on this site.

Early foundations.
A larger modeling direction.

Current phase-one work is narrower than the complete modeling ambition. It focuses on inspecting, organizing, transforming, validating, and preparing static assets for Maple Engine.

That early application foundation and the longer-term general-purpose modeling product should be read as different scopes. Asset preparation does not by itself establish a finished full modeling experience.

Foundry has its own application and project responsibilities. It should not be treated as another name for Grevara, the Engine runtime, or the native Engine editor.

Form before
runtime behavior.

In the planned suite, Foundry occupies the 3D asset-creation role. Soar occupies animation, Design occupies 2D sprite creation, and Morph occupies supported external-asset conversion.

Those responsibilities can complement one another without being interchangeable. Not every asset needs to visit every application, and an asset’s route depends on its purpose and the support available.

A complete live round trip, common project format, or finished cross-application integration is not announced here. The workflow page explains the intended division of responsibilities.

In development.

No public Foundry download, release date, price, licensing program, or detailed compatibility list is announced on this site.
